Want happy campers? Think inside the box.

Even the best hotel, motel, resort and holiday park owners tend to get a rough ride when it comes to maintaining net connectivity. Namely, they get a rough ride when it comes ensuring promises their Wi-Fi connection in holiday cabins does what’s supposed do. The fallout is usually through no fault of their own, but the truth really should be known: the vacation scene is notorious for Wi-Fi solutions that don’t stand up to the task. We have a solution.

Most accommodation providers know how easy it is for things to go wrong. You list Wi-Fi as an accommodation feature, (and in 2018, your guests no longer want, but actually NEED it), and it ‘drops out’ when they arrive. It doesn’t stop dropping out. Guests are frustrated, limited without their Wi-Fi devices and before you know it, you’ve scored a bad review. Or two. Or more. When it comes to accommodation, this is something we hear very often.

Take, for example, the recent and challenging brief we took on. The circumstance was typical of Wi-Fi standards in holiday parks. To understand why the challenge was particularly tricky, it helps to first understand why achieving a good Wi-Fi signal inside a cabin calls for thinking outside the box. Or rather, within it.

Why even luxury holiday cabins can be a Wi-Fi Freeze Zone.

Most modern cabins are made from metal. It may (or may not) surprise you to learn that a Wi-Fi signal rarely makes it through a metal wall. And while you’ve got a mildly better chance of getting a signal from the cabin window, it gets worse: many luxury cabin windows are lined with a metal film to minimise external heat absorption. This film creates a WiFi signal barrier and this means it’s unlikely that guests will be able to do much more than send and receive a text, let alone download movies, stream content or seamlessly scroll through their favourite sites.

It’s an extremely difficult and compromising issue for park owners to navigate.

Often, holiday cabins are generally placed in the ‘too-hard’ basket when connectivity becomes an problem. It’s something of a silent issue and it can quickly have a devastating impact on any accommodation providers ratings. But, it certainly doesn’t have to be that way, and with credit to our team of innovators, it’s possible to now keep holidaying families happier than ever.

Teksupport recently accepted a brief from Big4 Macdonnell Ranges in Alice Springs, where they’d been challenged by the typical limitations of their standard (and outdated) Wi-Fi solution and wanted to improve it to keep their valued guests happy. We also needed to provide coverage for all outdoor areas within the 11-hectare park space - again challenging but not impossible with an innovative solution. Our fix utilised an exclusive TekSupport concept that would resolve poor signal reception inside their luxury holiday cabins. After a successful trial, the park owners ordered three more kits that day.

We want to make sure the word is out there: every holiday park owner can benefit from a Wi-Fi solution that is consistent with the great holiday experiences and spaces they offer . If you’re a park owner who is ready to offer the modern solution, the time is now!

At Teksupport, we want to bring about the change many business owners truly need when it comes to reliable, straightforward connectivity they can rely on. Our hotel and holiday park Wi-Fi solutions work hard and perform beautifully in these challenging environments, revolutionising expectations of great Wi-Fi, wherever you are. The Teksupport team can offer innovative solutions that keep your customers, guests and clients happy. Talk to us about raising the standard on Wi-Fi today!
